Yemen: 400 bambini ex bambini soldato riabilitati dal programma del KSrelief
KSrelief‘s Child Soldiers Rehabilitation Program rehabilitated 400 former child soldiers in Yemen.
About the Program
King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre (KSrelief) adapted and implemented the Child Soldiers Rehabilitation Program in Yemen, a qualitative humanitarian project which began in Ma’rib in September of 2017. The program provides a variety of services to former child soldiers and other children severely impacted by the ongoing conflict in Yemen, helping them reintegrate into their home communities by providing them with comprehensive educational and social support.
The project helps former child soldiers and other children affected by the conflict to reenter society and return to school; it accomplishes these goals by providing psychological and social services for the children and their families to help normalize their lives following the trauma they have experienced as a result of the ongoing conflict in Yemen.
The project also aims to raise awareness among parents of child soldiers about the dangers of child recruitment, and to help them find ways to create safe, healthy home environments. The courses for parents include information about international laws regarding child recruitment and the responsibility of parent to protect their children from harm.
The project began on 9 September 2017 and is ongoing.
