Saudi Tour 2020 for bicycles

Riyadh, February 03, 2020, SPA -- The capital Riyadh witnessed today the launching ceremony of the Saudi Tour 2020 championship for bicycles, which begins its competitions tomorrow and continues until next Saturday, under the supervision of the General Sports Authority represented by the Saudi Cycling Federation, and under the umbrella of the UCI, within the initiatives that fall under the program "Quality of Life".
A total of 126 world riders representing 18 teams from different countries of the world compete in five stages with a total distance of 755 km.
The ceremony, which was hosted by the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, witnessed visual and laser performances, which dealt with the world championship and its importance, and the most prominent features of the tour in various stages of terrain.
It is scheduled to start the first stage competitions tomorrow morning within the five stages of "Saudi Tour 2020", starting from the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex to the Al-Sibani Center of the province of Darmaa with a distance of 173 km.
The second stage of the heritage village will be "Sodus Fort" to the province of Diriyah "Al-Bujairi", with a distance of 182 km, and the third stage will start from King Saud University to the province of Diriyah "Al-Bujairi" with a distance of 119 km, and the fourth from Wadi Namar Park to King Saud University in Al-Muzahmiya Governorate with a distance of 137 km And the fifth and final stage, with a distance of 144 km, will start from Princess Nora Bint Abdul Rahman University, with the historic Al-Masmak Palace in the heart of the capital Riyadh to be the end point of the circling stages.
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Cycling Federation, Sabah bin Abdullah Al-Kreidis, confirmed in a press statement on this occasion that the Saudi Tour 2020 represents a wonderful opportunity for the world to witness through it the renaissance and development that the Kingdom is experiencing at all levels, especially sports ones, and reveals the extent of the great support and interest we receive in this sector from the wise leadership and with the follow-up and interest of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Sports.
It is noteworthy that the 18 participating teams represent the following countries, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, Spain, Japan, Kazakhstan, France, South Africa, the United States of America, Britain, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Malaysia, and Russia.
