“This year is the first time to have a Ministerial Meeting for women empowerment only. It’s a record, we are very proud of it, and we are hoping that future presidencies will carry this legacy.
Ever since this topic was introduced, several years ago, it was repeated every year and every year we stress and stress the Country’s commitment to whether it’s the numerical goals of reaching equality or reducing the gap in inclusion or digital literacy, and all of these topics keep coming in g20 context. It’s a venue for countries to show how much they are committed to this issue and also to showcase the progress they have made.
Ever since the Vision 2030 was introduced there was a specific target in the vision, which is to increase women’s participation in the labour market. But in order to achieve the target of that objective, we had to transform the entire Country, in terms of transforming the economy, amending laws and legislations, looking into social security, day care for children. It’s a whole comprehensive approach to reach the target of that goal.
It was a good opportunity also for G20 ministers to stress their support for women in Afghanistan and look into the situation in Afghanistan in general, but with a particular focus on women in Afghanistan, and I think what we heard was an exemplification of the solidarity of the world with women in Afghanistan”.

“The concluding document also highlights the role of financial literacy in ensuring women's economic independence and incentivizing female entrepreneurship.
One of the goals of this Vision - explains the Secretary General of the Saudi Arabian Family Council Hala Al-Tuwaijri - is to increase women's participation in the labor market.”.
