Kingdom is witnessing qualitative leap towards progress, prosperity through focus on human development
On Tuesday 27, Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al Jubeir delivered a speech at the high-level segment of the thirty seventh session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the Kingdom is witnessing a qualitative leap towards progress and prosperity through focusing on people and development and making the protection and promotion of human rights a consistent approach in all taken measures.The minister highlighted Saudi efforts to serve pilgrims and provide all facilities to them without discrimination and away from any politicization.The minister talked about the Kingdom's vision 2030.The minister spoke on the Arab-Israeli conflict as the longest-running conflict in the modern era and human rights violations against Myanmar's Rohingya minority.
The minister underlined the kingdom's great efforts over the past years to combat extremism and terrorism, saying that its latest effort was the donation of € 100 million to strengthen counter terrorism efforts in the African Sahel countries.
The minister reaffirmed Saudi steadfast position in supporting Yemen, its people and its legitimate government in confronting the terrorist Houthi militia of Iran.
